Yiasou! Charlotte’s Greek Festival Returns This September 🇬🇷
September 11–13, 2026
Charlotte is getting its Greek on.
The Yiasou Greek Festival returns to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral for a weekend packed with Greek food, music, dancing, culture, and plenty of kefi.
The festival has been a Charlotte tradition since 1978 and has grown into one of the city’s largest cultural events. “Yiasou” — one of those wonderfully multipurpose Greek words for hello, goodbye, and cheers — sets the tone for a weekend celebrating all things Hellenic.
Come hungry: expect authentic Greek cuisine and homemade pastries, plus Greek coffee and frappes at the Kafeneio. Throughout the weekend, there will also be live Greek music, traditional folk dancing, cultural exhibits, shopping, cathedral tours, Byzantine music, and activities for kids.
And yes, you may find yourself learning a Greek dance before the weekend is over.
